Magic Items on Ascarus
On Ascarus you find an advanced item system, which allows items to hold additional bonuses. Upon killing a monster, most equipment pieces have a chance to drop with additional stats. Your chance to loot a magical item from a monster can be improved by increasing your magic find stat. A higher magic find percentage means a higher chance to loot magical items. You can use the !mf command in game to check your current magic find bonus.
How does it work?
The player who dealt the most damage to a monster will use their magic find bonus to determine which dropped items might become magical items. Items dropped by monsters all have the same chance to be magical items, however, monsters with a higher difficulty have a higher chance to drop magical items. Possible bonuses on items have been assigned individually, which means a wand cannot receive a distance fighting bonus and a knight weapon cannot receive a magic level bonus. When an item becomes magical it can receive a prefix, suffix or both. The maximum amount of stat bonuses an item can receive is 2, which is considered a double magic item. A magical item can never receive the same bonus twice, which means it can never have an attack prefix and an attack suffix, but an attack prefix coupled with a defense suffix would be possible. Each prefix and suffix has its own rarity, which have no effect on each other, you can find a legendary attack speed item paired with an uncommon magic level bonus. You can find an example in the table below.Type | Item Name | Bonus |
---|---|---|
Prefix | Deadly solar sword | +4 attack |
Suffix | solar sword of Vanguard | +12 defense |
Double | Deadly solar sword of Vanguard | +4 attack, +12 defense |

Item Salvaging
The sorcerer Aveus has been researching ways of turning magical dusts back into orbs of enchantment, he has set up a laboratory above the magic shop in Thais. The laboratory also contains an item salvaging station, which can be used to destroy magical items in order to salvage magical dusts from them. Aveus is able to turn magical dusts into orbs of enchantment if you can bring him the items he requires to complete the process. The process is highly unstable and the formula constantly changes, so always be sure to check for the requirements with Aveus. Depending on the origin of a magical item, it can yield a different amount of magical dusts when being salvaged. The specific amounts can be found in the table below.Item Origin | Salvaged Dusts |
---|---|
Looted by monsters | 2 magical dusts |
Enchanted by players | 50 magical dusts |
